Welcome to the joint Burton Green and University of Warwick Parish Council

Burton Green is a small but vibrant rural village in Warwickshire, which consists of a small network of main road surrounded by mainly farmland and greenery.  The village has a thriving community with a Village Hall, local Primary School and a pub called the ‘Peeping Tom’. The University of Warwick is an internationally renowned place of education serving some 6000 students and 120 residents who live on site.

The Parish Council is the first tier of local government, layered above it are Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council.

The Council if fully constituted would be made up of 11 Councillors, 7 from Burton Green and 4 from the University.  However, following the election and subsequent co-option of four new Cllrs, the Parish Council now has 7 Cllrs from Burton Green and one from the University, leaving it three Cllrs short to represent the University of Warwick.

There are eleven Parish Council meetings per year, plus the Annual Parish meeting of the electorate – the Agendas and minutes of which are all available to read on this website.

Meetings are normally held on the third Monday of every month, at 7.30pm in Burton Green  Village Hall

Representatives of the District and County Councils usually attend the meetings, and members of the public are always welcome.

Burton Green has a Parish Plan created by the The Parish Plan Steering Group. With questionaire analysis conducted by WRCC  Burton Green Parish Plan Analysis Appendix
